UAE, Jordan ministers discuss global, regional issues

AMMAN, JORDAN – Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi met with UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Safadi and Sheikh Abdullah discussed strengthening the strategic relations between the two countries, Arab causes and regional and international developments of common interest.

In their meeting held on the sidelines of the Sir Bani Yas Forum in Abu Dhabi, the two ministers reaffirmed the continuation of the systematic institutional work to develop cooperation in various fields, in a manner that reflects the directives of Jordan’s King Abdullah and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, according to a ministry statement issued on Saturday.

Safadi and Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the progress on joint projects and cooperation programs adopted by the two countries.

The two ministers also discussed Arab causes, the Palestinian issue and regional and international developments, and stressed the continuation of cooperation and coordination towards them in a way that serves the interests of the two countries, Arab causes and contributes to solving regional crises.

Safadi expressed appreciation for the UAE support to Jordan to deal with economic challenges.
