Emirates will restart flights to Saudi Arabia and St. Petersburg in Russia with demand for travel rising as the Covid pandemic restrictions ease in many parts of the world.
“The resumption of these services build on Emirates’ growing global footprint, the continued lifting of entry restrictions as well as demand recovery across the airline’s network,” Emirates said.
Saudi Arabia has recently lifted the travel ban on UAE and allowed its citizens to travel to the emirates starting September 8.
From Saturday, Emirates will begin operating 24 weekly flights to Saudi Arabia, including daily flights to the capital Riyadh, daily A380 flights to Jeddah, daily flights to Dammam and three weekly flights to Medina.
Flights to Riyadh will increase to double daily from September 16, and plans are underway to boost frequencies across other gateways by the end of September, Emirates said.
From October 8, flights between Dubai and St. Petersburg will operate four times a week, with services expected to increase to daily from October 21.
