Abbas meets al-Sisi, discusses bilateral cooperation

President Mahmoud Abbas and his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, on Tuesday discussed ways to maintain bilateral cooperation.

The two met on the sidelines of the 4th edition of the World Youth Forum being held in Egypt’s Red Sea resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh.

President Abbas congratulated Al-Sisi on the successful conduct of the four-day forum, which is being attended by the youth representing 196 countries and will run until Thursday.

He briefed Al-Sisi on the latest developments in the Palestine-Israel conflict and human rights violations against the Palestinian people in the occupied territories.

Abbas thanked the Egyptian leader on his support for the Palestinians and his role in advocacy for the rights of the Palestinian people for freedom and independence.

President al-Sisi affirmed his country’s support for the Palestinian struggle.
