GCC, Pakistan finalize action plan for strategic dialogue

Pakistan and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on Wednesday finalised the Joint Action Plan for Strategic Dialogue (2022-26), Associated Press of Pakistan reported.

The plan proposes an institutional approach to deepen cooperation in various fields, such as political, security, trade and investment, agriculture and food security, transportation, energy, environment, health, culture and education.

The action plan was finalised during a delegation-level meeting between Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and GCC Secretary General Dr Nayef Falah M. Al-Hajraf.

The two sides also exchanged views on the regional developments, in particular the prevailing humanitarian situation in Afghanistan and the deteriorating human rights situation in Indian administered Kashmir. 

Foreign Minister Qureshi and Secretary General Al-Hajraf underscored that the Action Plan would impart a strong impetus towards optimally realising the tremendous potential for increased cooperation between Pakistan and the GCC states.
