Iraq has attributed ‘the victory over terrorism’ to a comprehensive national strategy that it has adopted to deal with violent groups like ISIS.

Iraqi foreign minister Fouad Hussein said Saturday that the victory over terrorism has led the Iraqi government in its various institutions to move towards the reconstruction of liberated cities.

“Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein confirmed in his speech during the regional security summit/Manama Dialogue 17 that Iraq has strengthened its efforts by adopting a comprehensive national strategy to combat terrorism, led by ISIS terrorist gangs, and preventing it from infiltrating society or controlling cities,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed al-Sahaf said in a statement received by the Official Iraqi News Agency (INA).

“Building bridges of trust and cooperation among the countries of the world, and the primacy of the language of dialogue, is very important in order to create a safe and stable environment that guarantees the decent life of peoples and to achieve the requirements of economic and social prosperity, which is a vital and fundamental requirement,” the foreign minister said during his speech.

“The victory over terrorism has provided us with the transition to important objectives at the internal, regional and international levels, as the Iraqi government and its various institutions have moved towards the reconstruction of cities liberated from ISIS terrorist gangs, and there have been several conferences and internal and external activities focused on cooperation in the field of construction and investment inside Iraq,” he said.
