Iraq’s Minister of Water Resources, Mahdi Rashid Al-Hamdani, said that dialogues have been taking place with neighboring nations to ensure the country gets its due share of water.
Al-Hamdani said on Sunday, “Dialogues are ongoing with neighboring countries, and the special envoy of the Turkish president is supposed to visit Iraq, but so far the date of the visit has not been set.”
He said that a discussion on fair and just water share for Iraq will take place.
Al-Hamdani expressed the hope, “the visit will be close to discussing the water crisis that is taking place in the whole region, and discussing fair and equitable water quotas for Iraq.”
The minister said, “a tripartite meeting including Iraq, Iran and Turkey will be held in Baghdad.”
