Jordan king Abdullah meets Arab leaders in Egypt

Jordan king Abdullah on Monday met with the Arab leaders participating in the consultative meeting in New El Alamein City.

The king was received by Egypt President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and a number of senior Egyptian officials on arrival at El Alamein International Airport on Egypt’s north coast.

The meeting, held at the airport, included Egypt President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Bahrain King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Iraq Prime Minister Mustafa Al Kadhimi.

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi and visiting President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan underlined the importance of strengthening joint Arab action and Arab unity to cope with challenges facing the Arab region.

They called for coordinated efforts to find long-term solutions to regional crises in order to bring about security, stability and peace for the region and its people, Xinhua news agency report quoted.

They also vowed to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries, especially in the economic and development fields, to support their aspirations towards achieving sustainable development, progress and prosperity, according to the statement issued at the end of the meeting.
