Kuwaiti defense minister discusses ties with Turkish, Indian envoys

Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah on Tuesday received the Turkish and Indian ambassadors to Kuwait and discussed bilateral relations and cooperation.

The Ministry of Defense said in a statement the defense minister, during the meeting with the Turkish Ambassador Ase Koytak, discussed means of boosting joint action between the two countries.

Koytak delivered a message from Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusolgu to the Kuwaiti minister inviting him to the Antalya Diplomatic Forum due in March.

Separately, the defense minister received Indian Ambassador to Kuwait Sibi George. The two addressed issues of common interest, means of enhancing cooperation, regional and international issues.

The two meetings were attended by the Kuwaiti Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Khaled Saleh Al-Sabah, the acting defense undersecretary Sheikh Fahad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah and the assistant undersecretary Sheikha Shamayel Ahmad Al-Khaled Al-Sabah.

Later in the day, the minister hosted the State of Kuwait Ambassador to Tunisia Ali Al-Shafiri  to discuss some issues. He hailed the Kuwaiti mission’s role in bolstering cooperation between the two countries.
