Zelenskyy in Saudi Arabia to discuss war; meets Mohammed bin Salman

  • The 10th Saudi relief plane operated by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) reached a Polish airport, close to the Ukrainian border.

RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his accompanying delegation arrived here on Tuesday.

The Ukrainian President was on a visit to Saudi Arabia. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, who is also the prime minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, received President Zelenskyy in Riyadh.
The President of Ukraine expressed his happiness about visiting the Kingdom and meeting with senior Saudi officials.

During the meeting, they reviewed aspects of Saudi-Ukrainian relations. Both sides discussed the Ukrainian-Russian crisis. The Crown Prince reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s support for all international endeavors aimed at resolving the crisis and arriving at peace while continuing to contribute to alleviating the situation of the population through humanitarian assistance.
The Ukrainian leader expressed appreciation and thanks for the efforts exerted by the Kingdom in this regard.
Present at the meeting were Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of State and Cabinet Member Prince Turki bin Mohammad bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Sports Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of National Guard Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of State, Cabinet Member and National Security Advisor Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, and Saudi Ambassador to Ukraine, Mohammed Al-Mas-har Al-Jibreen.
Ukrainian officials attended the meeting, among whom Presidential Office Head Andriy Yermak, Minister for Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba, Minister for Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin, Minister of Defence Rustem Umerov and Ukrainian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Anatolii Petrenko.

Earlier, at the Royal Terminal in King Khalid International Airport, Zelenskyy was received by the Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region, Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of State, and Member of the Cabinet (accompanying minister), Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban.

The Mayor of Riyadh Region, Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, the Saudi Ambassador to Ukraine, Mohammed Al-Mas-har Al-Jibreen, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Anatolii Petrenko, and several other officials were also present at the airport.

Meanwhile, the 10th Saudi relief plane operated by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) arrived at the Polish Rzeszow Airport, located near the Ukrainian border, carrying 80 tons of relief aid and essential supplies, including electric generators and appliances.

The aircraft will cross the Polish border into Ukraine as part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to offer humanitarian assistance to the Ukrainian people.
