Qatar pledges to support Afghan people in search for rights

Kabul, Afghanistan— Qatar has renewed its pledge to Afghanistan to help the war-ravaged country in fields of education, development, politics, and economy.

This was reiterated in a meeting between the visiting Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Counterterrorism and Mediation in Conflict Resolution Dr. Mutlaq bin Majed Al Qahtani to Afghanistan and top Afghan leadership.

The visiting dignitary met with Minister of Foreign Affairs Amir Khan Muttaqi, Minister of Interior Sirajuddin Haqqani, Minister of Education Habibullah Agha, and Director-General of the General Directorate of Intelligence Abdul Haq Wasiq of the Afghan caretaker government.

During the meetings, they discussed the developments in Afghanistan, especially in politics, economy, development, and education.

The envoy reiterated Qatar’s position supporting all segments of the Afghan people to obtain all their rights, particularly the right to education, especially for girls, and respect for women’s right to work, stressing the continuation of Qatar’s endeavors to support and facilitate efforts to reach a comprehensive political consensus that achieves security and stability in Afghanistan.
