Qatar’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry has announced a recall campaign of Similac Elecare and Human Milk Fortifier infant formula products.

The decision is taken due to the possibility of contamination of these products with Salmonella and Chronobacter bacteria, local media reported.

The Ministry stated in a statement today that this move comes to ensure the immediate cessation of the use of the products.

All the products suspected of being contaminated with Salmonella and Chronobacter bacteria from all sales outlets in the country will be returned.

The statement indicated that other Similac products in the local markets are not included in this warning, and are fit for consumption.

There will be coordination with the company’s agent to follow up on returns and communicate with customers to ensure that the measures are implemented.

The Ministry urged all consumers to report any violations by communicating with the Consumer Protection and Anti-fraud Department.
