London, Britain – Saudi foreign minister on Thursday Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah called on the international community, especially the permanent members of the Security Council, including the United Kingdom, to fulfill their responsibilities towards intensifying efforts aimed at a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and ensure the availability of relief corridors for the urgent delivery of humanitarian food and medical aid to the Gaza Strip.

In a meeting with British Foreign Secretary David Cameron, Prince Faisal also highlighted the need for creating conditions for the return of stability and the restoration of “a comprehensive and just peace” that guarantees the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

The Saudi Ambassador to the UK, Prince Khalid bin Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, also attended the meeting. Cameron held a lunch banquet in honor of Prince Faisal and his accompanying delegation which included the Director General of the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Dawood.

The two sides reviewed bilateral relations and ways to develop them in various fields. They also discussed the developments in the Gaza Strip and the need to ensure that violence does not escalate so as to achieve full protection for civilians.
