UAE Vice-President wishes China in Chinese on National Day

Dubai, UAE – Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Sunday shared a rare video from his visit to China 30 years ago while extending congratulations to China on its 74th National Day. 

In a heartfelt message posted in Chinese on Platform X, he said: “We share longstanding strategic and cultural ties with China, and we look forward to strengthening our relations and cooperation for a better future for both of our peoples and the world.”

In a video message, Sheikh Mohammed, who is also ruler of Dubai, highlighted the historical connection between the region and China, stating: “The Silk Road connected the East to the West and the West to the East. Our ancestors were open to the world as we are a trading country.” 

He also mentioned: “There are similarities between Shanghai and Dubai. We learned from China the concept of ‘speed at work’; therefore we accomplish fast.”

Recalling his visits to China, Sheikh Mohammed said: “I visited China three times in a year. I like the country and I like its people.”

Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also conveyed a message in Chinese, expressing pride in the UAE’s historical and strategic relationship with China and their anticipation of further cooperation.
