Iraq Forum for Clean Energy 2022 kicks off on Sunday

The Iraqi Ministry of Oil announced that the Iraq Forum for Clean and Renewable Energy 2022 will begin on Sunday, local media reports said.

Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul Jabbar Ismail said, “The participation of the Ministries of Oil, Electricity and Environment, and a number of national and global companies operating in Iraq, is an important step aimed to get acquainted about the latest practical experiences and applications in this field.”

The companies include South Gas, Basra Gas, Shell and Siemens Energy, Schlumberger, Baker Hughes.

Also, the forum will be used for discussing the programs for developing the renewable energy sectors in Iraq, in addition to the future visions and prospects, similar experiences in developed countries, and the most important practical steps in this field.

He pointed out that “the start of the activities of this forum comes within the Iraqi government and the ministry of oil endeavors to support all initiatives and efforts to gradually shift from traditional to clean and renewable energy.”

The shift to renewable energy will be “through cooperation projects between national companies and international companies specialized in this field”, said the minister.
