Jordan talks economic cooperation with Denmark

Jordan and Denmark have discussed ways to increase cooperation that may increase the volume of joint trade between them, according to official sources.

Jordan’s Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Nasser Shraideh, held the discussions with Danish Minister of Development Cooperation Flemming Mortensen and his accompanying delegation.

They are said to have talked about ways to support and enhance prospects for joint economic and development cooperation.

Shraideh reportedly called on the Danish side to increase the support provided to Jordan, and focus on economic and employment opportunities programs.

He also asked the European nation to increase assistance to Jordan’s government to implement its priorities and development plans.

Shraideh stressed the importance of supporting Jordan’s economy through investment and expanding joint trade volume.

The discussions also covered the region’s current situation and ways to enhance bilateral relations.

Shraideh briefed Mortensen on Jordan’s economic situation and efforts to increase growth and employment rates for Jordanians, as well as the challenges facing the government and its development and economic priorities for the next stage.

The Danish minister, for his part, voiced his country’s readiness to continue supporting Jordan and searching for additional ways to strengthen bilateral relations, especially with regard to the issue of Syrian refugees in the region.
