Middle East battles rising data breach costs

Organizations in the Middle East are now effectively handling data breaches today.
  • Data breach costs in the Middle East are the second highest in the world after the US.
  • In an IBM report based on data breach experienced by 550 organizations, 33 are from the Middle East region.

The Middle East ranks second in data breach losses after the United States. IBM’s 2022 ‘Cost of a Data Breach Report’ , which is based on real-world data breaches experienced by 550 organizations, shows that 31 of these organizations are from the Middle East, between March ’21 and March ’22.

Most of the cyber breaches happen from within the organization, but the silver lining is that Middle East organizations are containing faster and more effectively than previous years. TRENDS takes a look at the state of data breaches in the region:
