No suspension of flights, says Iraq’s civil aviation authority

The Iraqi civil aviation authority has announced that there is no suspension of flights in the country, while confirming that it implements all decisions issued by the higher authorities.

The authority’s spokesman Jihad Al-Diwan, told the local media that “the aviation authority is an executive institution and implements all decisions issued by the higher authorities.”

He noted that “the Supreme Committee for National Health and Safety issued several decisions, including instructing departing and arriving travelers and after the issuance of the book.”

Officially, the Iraqi Aviation Authority will notify the companies of presenting the international vaccination card for departures and arrivals with a (PCR) examination (72) hours before the flight, said reports.

He stressed that “there is no suspension of flights in accordance with the instructions and directives.”

The Supreme Committee for Health and Safety earlier issued its decisions regarding the epidemiological situation in Iraq, while it decided to cancel the exception of pilgrims from the requirement to present the international card for vaccination.
