UAE president, rulers of Emirates celebrate flag day

Abu Dhabi, UAE — The UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Supreme Council Members, rulers of the Emirates, along with their grandsons, today raised the UAE flag nationwide on the occasion of the ‘’UAE Flag Day” marked annually on November 3.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman; Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah; Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain and Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, and Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, raised the UAE flag.

The leaders expressed their utmost pride on this precious occasion, stressing that the celebration symbolises their unity, sovereignty, and pride and an occasion to renew their pledge of loyalty and belonging to the homeland.

They also wished further development and prosperity for the homeland under the leadership of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.

The Flag Day was first celebrated in 2013 to celebrate the accession of Sheikh Khalifa as President of the UAE in 2004.

It is commemorated every year on November 3. It is not a public holiday.

“We call on our citizens, organisations, and ministries to hoist the flag simultaneously on November 3 at 11:00 am to express the unity of our home and our destiny,” Sheikh Mohammed recently tweeted urging citizens, companies and ministries to mark the occasion.
