The Qatar Fund for Development (QFD) attended the opening ceremony of the last phase of the Assilah housing project, which has 204 housing units, official sources have said.
The residential complex, located in Bir Al-Souk, is expected to provide its services by building 12 buildings consisting of three floors and a basement.
Each floor apparently contains four apartments, with each apartment having an area of 72 square meters.
This is said to be in addition to a kindergarten and 4 shops serving the residential complex.
This project is expected to play an important role in supporting the Moroccan society by ensuring the availability of adequate housing with the aim of providing a decent life and a promising future.
This project is also said to be an affirmation of the longstanding bilateral relations between the two countries and the continuous efforts to strengthen this relationship in a fruitful and persistent manner.
Assilah Forum Foundation Secretary-General Mohammed bin Issa was quoted by the official sources as saying that the entity has “provided a real-estate container with an area of one and a half hectares.”
He added: “The foundation also supervised the tracking of construction operations, covering the costs of preservation, registration, apartment division, and the rest of the complementary operations.”
Qatar’s Ambassador to Morocco, Sheikh Abdullah bin Thamer Mohammed Al-Thani, said on the occasion that the project was aimed to “activate the interest that the State of Qatar attaches to supporting social and development projects in Morocco.”
