Saudi Arabia’s National Housing Company has announced that it has launched a training program for both male and female engineering graduates to equip them to work professionally in the local labor market, said local reports on Saturday, June 5.
The initiative, called the Wa’ed program, is aimed at training newly graduated Saudi engineers, the reports quoted an NHC statement as saying.
It will offer them professional opportunities and help them build skills for the current market, said the reports.
It was launched in the presence of Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs of Housing Majid bin Abdullah Al Hogail, NHC CEO Engineer Mohammed bin Saleh Al Bati, and other senior officials.
The reports also said that NHC is cooperating with specialized companies to provide more future projects to help Saudi families own property in various regions of the kingdom.
A total of 95 projects are currently under way as part of the government’s Sakani program, which aims to provide a total of 141,000 housing units.
This comes as part of NHC’s goals to provide model residential neighborhoods with distinctive specifications within qualitative partnerships with qualified real estate developers with experience and competence in infrastructure development.
The development of these residential units under various government schemes by NHC is in line with the kingdom’s ambitious plan to raise the proportion of housing ownership for Saudi families to 70 percent in the next 10 years under the kingdom’s Vision 2030.
