Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: Mohammed bin Salman, the crown prince and prime minister of Saudi Arabia, arrived in Bangkok, Thailand, on Thursday for an official visit.

Prince Mohammed was received by Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha upon his arrival, and the prince then proceeded to review a guard of honour.

The Saudi and Thai national anthems were played during the crown prince’s ceremonial greeting ceremony.

The crown prince travelled to South Korea, attended the G20 conference in Bali, and then arrived in Thailand.

Thailand has invited Crown Prince Mohammed to be an observer at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit. The crown prince will also be the first foreign leader to have an audience with King Maha Vajiralongkorn, and later meet with Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha to sign memorandums on tourism, energy and normalizing diplomatic relations.

“It’s been a momentous year for the relationship,” Saudi Investment Minister Khalid Al-Falih told reporters in Bangkok last week. “It’s very important to boost the relationship to where it belongs, which is a very strong partnership that has great potential.”
