Sharjah Municipality permits food display in restaurants during Ramadan

Sharjah Municipality has announced that restaurants and cafeterias will be allowed to display food on tables in Ramadan, according to official sources.

The authorities will issue the necessary permits for this purpose, said the sources.

The permits are expected to be issued in accordance with hygiene conditions and preventive measures.

Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director General of Sharjah Municipality, confirmed that it has prepared all its relevant departments and teams to follow up on food preparation and serving facilities.

He added that the municipal authority has also allocated inspection teams to follow up whether the facilities were complying with the health and hygiene regulations.

The municipality is expected to also set up two Ramadan tents, in cooperation with the Sharjah Charity International, to serve workers during Ramadan in various industrial areas.

The Director-General of the Municipality indicated that public parking would be subject to fees from 8 am until midnight, and would be free during the Tarawih prayer period, and would include parking surrounding mosques only.
