  • Landowners yet to update their property data can approach Real Estate Registration Department

The campaign to update landowners’ data in the real estate sector in various areas of Sharjah has concluded on 29 May.

Started on 29 May and carried out by the Real Estate Registration Department in cooperation with the District & Villages Affairs Department, citizens, the activity covered residents and investors of various nationalities.

It aimed to preserve the rights of landowners and to update their data, especially with the presence of old data that has not been updated for a long time.

The issue of similar names, which could cause a delay in some transactions, was resolved by linking the names of landowners with their ID numbers to avoid duplication.

Facilitating procedures for the department’s customers and ensuring the rights of all landowners in the real estate sector in Sharjah were the other objectives of the campaign.

Abdulaziz Ahmed Al Shamsi, director-general of Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department, hailed the success of the campaign and praised the cooperation by the District & Villages Affairs Department represented by its chairman, Khamis bin Salem Al Suwaidi.

Al Shamsi said about 2100 landowners participated in the campaign and about 5000 property deeds were updated in the emirate.

He said the campaign ended in the suburbs but will continue in different branches of the department, allowing the landowners who have not yet updated their data to complete the registration and updates. The entire process is free.

Al Shamsi said the department is constantly seeking to update its data to guarantee the rights of real estate landowners and to facilitate for them the management of their properties through developed e-services.
