Building confidence, security in ICT sector fetches Qatar key global award

The plans of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for advancing the ICT sector were reviewed at the World Summit on the Information Society.

Qatar won the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology “Heroes” award for the World Summit on the Information Society 2022.

It won in the category “Building confidence and security in the use of information and communication technology”, for its project “Safe Space”.

The project outperformed 5 other projects that were submitted to the competition to win this category of award.

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology represented Qatar in the ITU.

It participated in the forum as a golden strategic partner, where it reviewed its strategy in the field of digital transformation.

Qatar also reviewed its programs in the information and communications technology sector.

The project aims to instil a culture of digital security and safety.

The five-day summit which concluded Saturday, was held in Geneva at the headquarters of ITU.

All the member states of ITU highlighted the progress achieved in the digital transformation sector.

ITU is considered the largest annual gathering around the world for information and communication technology.
