Red Sea Global announces the opening of the first resorts and attractions on Shura Island.
  • Shura Island takes its natural dolphin-shaped form as the vibrant heart of the Red Sea destination
  • Inspired by the surrounding coral reefs, the island's architecture and design merge seamlessly with nature
Tabuk, Saudi Arabia – Red Sea Global announced the opening of the first resorts and attractions on Shura Island, which will begin welcoming guests in the coming weeks. This milestone marks a pivotal step toward realizing Saudi Vision 2030, diversifying the national economy, and strengthening the Kingdom’s position on the global map of regenerative tourism.
Shura Island takes its natural dolphin-shaped form as the vibrant heart of the Red Sea destination. Inspired by the surrounding coral reefs, the island’s architecture and design merge seamlessly with nature, using lightweight, low-thermal-mass materials that reduce environmental impact and boost energy efficiency. Like the rest of the Red Sea destination, the island is powered entirely by renewable energy.
Guests will arrive at Shura Island via speedboats docking at one of its marinas or through electric vehicles crossing the 3.3-kilometer Shura Bridge—the longest internal bridge in Saudi Arabia—ushering them into a world of turquoise lagoons, pristine beaches, and authentic Saudi hospitality.
Group CEO of Red Sea Global John Pagano said that Shura Links, Saudi Arabia’s first island golf course, will also open this September, offering a world-class golfing experience that blends innovative design with environmental sustainability. The course features panoramic views and a layout that harmonizes desert landscapes with lush fairways, adopting innovative water management and eco-friendly practices.
The Red Sea destination welcomed its first guests in 2023 and now operates five resorts. The Red Sea International Airport, strategically located within three hours’ flight for 250 million people worldwide, continues to operate a regular schedule of domestic and international flights.
