GACA, Saudi Institute of Internal Auditors sign an agreement to implement performance quality assessment services

    • The deal will see the implementation of quality performance evaluation services for GACA’s internal audit department

    • The move will look to activate aspects of partnership and cooperation between the two parties

Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation and the Saudi Institute of Internal Auditors signed a cooperation agreement on Wednesday, June 9, said local reports.

The deal will see the implementation of quality performance evaluation services for GACA’s internal audit department, said the reports, adding that the move will look to activate aspects of partnership and cooperation between the two parties.

The kingdom’s General Court of Audit President and Saudi Institute of Internal Auditors’Board of Directors Chairman Hussam bin Abdulmohsen Al-Anqari and GACA President Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej attended the ceremony where the agreement was signed, said the reports.

The cooperation will reportedly be in terms of governance, risk management, and internal control. The two parties will thus look to benefit from the experiences to help the GACA internal audit staff as well as the internal audit profession in general.

The move will also reportedly look to enrich the knowledge content of the profession. It will also apparently contribute to the dissemination of the culture of internal auditing and the strengthening of national professional skills in this field.

According to the agreement, SIIA will work to provide compatibility between the internal audit department at GACA with the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF), which includes the code of ethics and basic principles and the definition of internal audit and international standards for professional practice, as well as assessing compatibility between the Internal Audit Department and the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) by identifying opportunities to enhance internal audit processes, providing suggestions to improve the effectiveness of the internal audit activity, and providing ideas to improve the activity’s image and credibility.
