Oman launches New Nation Brand at Davos to enhance global presence

Muscat, Oman – Oman on Tuesday launched its New Nation Brand at the World Economic Forum in Davos in an effort towards enhancing the country’s global image.  

“The launch of the New Oman Nation Brand at Davos represents Oman’s commitment to the world as a cooperative and trustworthy partner,” a press release issued by the country said. “Focused on fostering meaningful connections and innovative collaborations, the new brand embodies the core values of warmth, partnership, and intelligent foresight that define our national identity.”

Speaking at the event, Oman’s Minister of Economy Dr Said Mohammed Al Saqri expressed confidence in the brand’s ability to enhance the country’s standing on the global stage. 

“This initiative is a testament to our unwavering dedication and spirit of cooperation and partnership,” al Saqri said. “We present to the world a narrative woven with our cultural richness and strategic foresight, aiming to create impactful global dialogues and partnerships.” .

He continued that the launch of the brand  in Davos was not only as an invitation to international investors and media to explore Oman’s opportunities but also as a celebration of the innovative spirit thriving in the country. 

“With a focus on sustainable development and economic growth, Oman is poised to become a hub for strategic and meaningful engagements on the global stage,” al Saqri said. “The New Oman Nation Brand is a reflection of our collective ambition to build a future where Oman plays a central role in addressing global challenges and fostering a sustainable, interconnected world.”

Speaking about Oman’s presence at Davos, Dr Salem Al Shiekh, Director General of Research and development studies, and Chief of National Competitive Office at the Ministry of Economy in Oman. emphasized the importance of showcasing Oman on such a global platform. “We believe in the importance of Oman’s presence at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum. Launching a dedicated pavilion allows participants to learn about Oman in close-up detail and provides venues for our delegation to conduct meetings and deliver presentations on investment opportunities,” he said.

Dr. Salem further elaborated on the achievements Oman was celebrating at the forum, including the official announcement of a joint venture to establish a Fourth Industrial Revolution Center. “This center will be part of a global network of more than 30 centers specializing in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, underscoring Oman’s commitment to innovation and collaboration,” he said.

“It aims to position Oman as a leader in global cooperation and forward-thinking solutions,” the press release added.

Oman delegation at Davos comprising private sector leaders, banks, and other government entities. “They are here to enlighten the global community about the investment opportunities and potentials in Oman,” Dr. Salem noted adding that Oman looked forward to position itself as a leader in global cooperation and forward-thinking solutions “This pavilion and our initiatives here at Davos are a reflection of our ambition to connect meaningfully with the world.”
