Pakistan and Oman agree to boost air travel, promote tourism

Muscat, Oman — Pakistan and Oman have agreed to boost air travel between the two countries’ airports, reports said.

The agreement came after a series of meetings in the Pakistani capital held by officials from both nations. An Omani delegation, led by Naif Ali Al Abri, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority, held a discussion with Khawaja Saad Rafique, Pakistan’s Minister of Aviation, and Khaqan Murtaza, Director General of Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority.

As part of the visit, the delegation also toured Islamabad International Airport to view various aviation-related facilities. 

The agreement aims to enhance air travel and strengthen cooperation between Oman and Pakistan in the aviation sector.  The move is expected to increase tourism and promote trade relations between the two nations.

Recently, the two countries also resolved to broaden bilateral relations, especially in strategic, economic and trade spheres, Pakistani media reports said.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Sultan of Oman His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariqbin Taimur Al Said had a telephonic conversation in which Sharif emphasized the need for enhancing institutional and economic linkages.
