ABU DHABI, UAE — From a staggering 400km above Earth, UAE astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi shares a unique glimpse of the Gulf neighbors, Bahrain and Qatar, referring to them as “two shining pearls”.

The tribute from space partially depicts Qatar veiled under cloud cover.

The astronaut continued to share his awe-inspiring perspective from his orbital viewpoint, expressing his hopes for continued prosperity and growth amongst the nations. He stated, “May we all continue to progress and flourish together for generations to come.”

Dr. Al Neyadi, who has previously offered glimpses of Iraq and Egypt as well as footage of Makkah, has now added Bahrain and Qatar to his space portfolio.

On Wednesday, he had shared an enchanting nighttime view of Baghdad, which he hailed as a “beautiful and historical city” and “the cornerstone of the golden age of knowledge”.

In other exciting news, Dr. Al Neyadi will be celebrating his 42nd birthday in a truly unique way, engaging with the public from his hometown, Al Ain.

In the fourth installment of his ‘A Call from Space’ initiative, he will speak live from the space station to an audience at UAE University in Al Ain.

The initiative allows him to connect with a range of people, from heads of state to schoolchildren and space enthusiasts. Hailing from Umm Ghafa, a residential district in Al Ain on the southeastern side of the city, Dr. Al Neyadi embarked on his mission to the space station on March 3.

The mission, which is set to last six months, represents the first long-duration space journey undertaken by an Arab astronaut.
