DUBAI, UAE — The UAE’s notable achievements in the space sector stand as a testament to the nation’s visionary leadership, spearheaded by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, said Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai.

“These accomplishments not only highlight the nation’s dedication to the space sector but also bolster the UAE’s reputation as a regional and global pioneer in space exploration,” he remarked.

Sheikh Hamdan lauded the team at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) for their relentless efforts over the past six months. Their dedication ensured the success of Sultan Al Neyadi’s mission to the International Space Station (ISS) and the meticulous planning for the longest Arab space mission, guaranteeing the UAE astronaut’s safe return.

“With the triumphant completion of Sultan Al Neyadi’s space mission, the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre has marked another significant milestone. The ‘Zayed 2′ mission embodies our leaders’ expansive vision and signifies a pivotal moment in the UAE’s space odyssey. This mission has not only made history but also showcased the prowess of Emiratis,” Sheikh Hamdan expressed.

“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to every member of the MBRSC team for their outstanding dedication. Collectively, we persist in establishing new standards for innovation and excellence. I eagerly await the forthcoming chapter in our space exploration saga,” he continued.

The Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre is instrumental in shaping the UAE’s future in the space domain, fostering the growth of the national space industry, and promoting a sustainable national economy. The Centre has been pivotal in various space missions, including Hazza Al Mansouri’s mission as the first UAE astronaut to the International Space Station, the Hope Probe’s mission to explore Mars, and the 2018 launch of KhalifaSat, the first satellite entirely designed and manufactured in the UAE.
