Jeddah, Saudi Arabia — Saudi Cruise, a wholly owned PIF subsidiary, specializing in developing the cruise sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has announced new agreements with a number of world-leading technology companies to boost investment in the Aroya Cruise Line.
Saudi Cruise said it renews its commitment to offer unique and innovative passenger experiences through these strategic partnerships with Monitor Deloitte for digital strategic consultancy, Alibaba Cloud for cloud computing services, theICEway for IT services, SourceToad for software engineering, Otalio for property management systems on board ships, and Versonix for travel and entertainment software services.
In September 2023, Saudi Cruise announced cooperation with top-notch companies in the sector, MJM Marine and DE Wave, for the new premium owned cruise line Aroya Cruise.
This cooperation aims to provide exceptional experience and high-quality service to passengers on-board the Aroya Cruise, the first cruise line in Saudi Arabia that was unveiled in June 2023, the company said.
According to the cooperation agreement, MJM Marine, a leading specialist in cruise ship refurbishment, will upgrade existing cabins and suites of the Aroya Cruise, provide a variety of restaurants, shopping and recreation venues, make steelwork modifications, upgrade on-board electrical and mechanical services, provide furniture, finishes, ceiling features and seating.
DE Wave Group, a global contractor for cruise ship and yacht interior outfitting, will outfit the upper deck areas of the AROYA Cruise, including new luxury suites, public facilities, and catering and hospitality facilities.
The MJM Marine and DE Wave will refurbish 98 percent of the passenger facilities.
‘Independent business’
AROYA, though a part of Cruise Saudi, will run as an independent business unit. Its name was formed by combining the words Arabian and roya, meaning vision or dream.
Building the cruise tourism sector in Saudi Arabia is very crucial to achieve the goals outlined in Vision 2030, as the Kingdom eyes becoming a global tourist destination by the end of this decade.
One of Cruise Saudi’s strategic goals includes welcoming 1.3 million cruise visitors by 2035 and providing 50,000 direct and indirect jobs.Â
