Doha, Qatar–The Qatar Chamber (QC) discussed ways to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise with Korean companies in agriculture and food security.
The issues were discussed in a meeting with a Korean delegation representing from the Hyundai Research Institute (HRI).
The meeting was attended by QC board member and Chair of Food Security Committee, Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Obaidli, and Byung Haak, Director of Business Development Department at PlanTfarm.
The meeting aimed to explore the Qatari market and investment opportunities in these sectors, as well as what Korean companies could introduce to the Qatari market.
Speaking at the meeting, Al Obaidli highlighted that the State of Qatar has made significant strides in the fields of agriculture and food security. He emphasized the Chambers support and keenness on enhancing cooperation between Qatari and Korean companies in this regard.
He noted that Qatar is a leading investment destination in this sector, indicating that it could serve as a hub for the entire region in terms of food security.
In turn, the head of the Korean delegation emphasized the significance of the Qatari market and reviewed the technological developments his country has achieved in agriculture.
He expressed eagerness to strengthen cooperation between Korean and Qatari companies in developing technology related to agriculture and food security.
