Rio de Janeiro, Brazil – Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan called on G20 nations to apply pressure for concrete measures to halt the conflict in Gaza and advocate for a credible, irreversible path toward a two-state solution.

Prince Faisal voiced these sentiments during the inaugural session of the G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, focusing on the theme “The G20’s Role in Addressing Ongoing International Tensions.”

During his address, Prince Faisal commended Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira on Brazil’s assumption of the G20 presidency for 2024. The Saudi minister underlined the imperative for international institutions to uphold their commitments globally and adopt clearer stances, particularly in addressing the dire situation in Gaza. Emphasizing the responsibility of G20 nations, Prince Faisal urged decisive action to bring an end to the crisis in Gaza, highlighting its imminent threats to regional peace, prosperity, and global economic stability.
