Doha — Qatar has the potential to become a successful hub for tech startups and major companies, thanks to its exceptional digital infrastructure and policies that support investment and simplify the process of establishing companies, said Katherine Maher, CEO of Web Summit Qatar 2024.

Maher praised Qatar for its substantial efforts, investments, and innovative ideas that have transformed it into a prime destination for investment and entrepreneurship. She highlighted Doha’s role as a nexus between the Middle East and the rest of the world.

The Summit gathered more than 15,000 participants from 118 countries and over a thousand startups, Maher noted, celebrating the event as a truly international gathering hosted by Qatar.

Qatar has drawn numerous large tech companies and investors, playing a crucial role in hosting servers and cloud operations, Maher continued.

She commended Qatar for having some of the most advanced elements of the tech industry, including highly skilled workers, outstanding visa policies, and an exceptional communications infrastructure, especially regarding airports.

Maher applauded Qatar’s various programs that offer opportunities to support entrepreneurs and investors in improving the business environment.

Earlier, Maher had said, “Over the past few years, we’ve seen a growing presence from the Middle East at our events. Dynamic founders, investors, and entrepreneurs from the region were contributing to our events in such a meaningful way, we knew it was time for us to host an event here. Web Summit Qatar represents a brand-new opportunity to connect a new generation of entrepreneurs, investors, and changemakers.” (QNA)
