Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Riyadh has officially approved on July 10 the designs for the Global Sports Tower, set to be the tallest sports tower in the world, as part of its expansive Sports Boulevard project along Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Road.
Led by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the initiative’s purpose is to elevate the city’s global profile while enhancing local quality of life.
Standing at 130 meters, the tower will feature over 30 sports facilities, including a record-breaking indoor climbing wall reaching 98 meters and the world’s highest indoor running track with a 250-meter circuit.
Designed with a blend of traditional and modern Salmani architecture, it promises to be a distinctive addition to Riyadh’s skyline, offering visitors integrated infrastructure and pedestrian pathways, cycling pathways, horse-riding trails, and more.
Spanning 135 kilometers from Wadi Hanifah to Wadi Al Sulai, the Sports Boulevard project integrates vast green spaces and 50 sports facilities, further underlining Riyadh’s commitment to sustainable urban development. This initiative aligns with one of the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030: promoting a healthy active lifestyle across the Kingdom.
The approval of the Global Sports Tower’s designs marks a significant milestone in Riyadh’s urban transformation, combining innovation with community-focused infrastructure.
