Six Ramadan initiatives launched in Asir region

Abha, Saudi Arabia — Six Ramadan community initiatives were launched in Al-Harjah Governorate in Saudi Arabia’s Asir region as part of the “Ajawid 4” events overseen by the Asir Region Development Authority.

The initiatives cover religious education, heritage preservation, archaeological documentation and traditional arts.

The Al-Rubu’ Community Development Association launched the “Khairkum” program to teach the Holy Quran, focusing on correct recitation, Tajweed rules and memorization.

In heritage documentation, the “Shawahiq Al-Athari” project was launched to document archaeological inscriptions and rock art in the Tihama Qahtan Mountains.

Another initiative, “Our Heritage, Our Authenticity,” aims to preserve cultural identity by documenting traditions, clothing, handicrafts and antique tools.

A workshop titled “Color Your Heritage” explored Al-Qatt Al-Asiri art and integrated it with Tihami heritage motifs.

The “Palace of Authenticity and Heritage” project restored an old palace and transformed it into a cultural and heritage center welcoming visitors.

An “Arts and Authenticity” forum was also launched to document traditional arts including Al-Rawha and Al-Qazou’i.
