    • Digital archiving part of DGW efforts to develop a centralized digital archive compliant with international standards

UAE: Dubai Government Workshop (DGW) has electronically archived up to 85 percent of documents during the first half of 2021.

During the past three years, more than 2 million papers have been converted into the digital format by the DGW, which was set up initially to maintain particular government assets and ensure their reliability and enhance their performances but its scope of activities was later widened.

In a statement, DGW said electronic archiving was a part of its efforts to develop a centralized digital archive compliant with international specifications and standards. The initiative is also in line with the DGW’s commitment to support smart transformation and achieve the objectives set forth by the Dubai Paperless Strategy, it added.

Fahad Ahmed Al-Raeesi, CEO of DGW, said the workshop is keen to coordinate closely with the National Archives to develop an integrated system for managing ongoing and intermediate documents.
