New FTA services to ease VAT refunds for UAE homes

UAE has announced updated entry procedures for those arriving through border crossings.
  • The initiative is expected to include a weekly interactive virtual workshop, the Virtual Session
  • This would introduce UAE citizens eligible to professionals for consultations and clarification about the VAT refund process

UAE nationals may now reclaim the Value-Added Tax or VAT they incurred on their newly built residences much more easily, local reports have said.

This has been made possible by some new services that have been introduced by the UAE’s Federal Tax Authority or FTA, said the local reports.

The new services are said to offer four different services that aim to raise the target audience’s awareness, provide them with easy access to information, and allow them to communicate directly with FTA representatives.

The services are also expected to receive people’s feedback, and constantly provide them with quality services.

The initiative is expected to include a weekly interactive virtual workshop, the Virtual Session.

This, the reports said, would introduce UAE citizens eligible to benefit from the service to representatives of housing authorities in the UAE, as well as contractors, engineers, and construction experts.

The individuals may then get consultations and clarification from the professionals about the VAT refund process.

The new services are also expected to have a Personal Assistant component, where applicants can book an appointment to communicate directly with FTA employees about the refund process.

The FTA has explained that the new services include a new campaign called Your Voice is Heard, where the authority would organize a series of remote, web-based interactive sessions to gauge citizens’ feedback, remarks, suggestions, and preferences with regards to the VAT refund process.
