As part of UNICEF’s UPSHIFT program, Nokia has agreed to a partnership with Orange Foundation and UNICEF to empower marginalized young people, particularly girls, in Morocco with digital, entrepreneurial and environmental skills.
The UPSHIFT program will empower young people to become resilient citizens who engage more actively with their everyday life, contribute to the economy, and aims to enable them to be productive through employment or self-employment.
Orange Morocco, through its Foundation, will join forces to assist and train the young people enrolled in the UPSHIFT program, which is featured as part of the World Bank’s Solutions for Youth Employment portfolio.
Through this program, at least 1400 young people, in which 60 percent are likely to be girls, will receive training in skills such as teamwork, self-esteem, creativity, communication, digital skills development, and in raising awareness of climate change challenges.
