  • The collaboration is expected to see RKT become a hub for aerial experiences such as aerobatic flights, skydiving, and hot-air ballooning
  • The agreement also means the airport will act as a base for Vertical, ActionFlight’s advanced pilot training program

The Ras Al Khaimah International Airport (RKT) has signed an agreement to establish its airfield as the operational base for aviation adventure tourism company Actionflight Aviation LLC.

The collaboration is expected to see RKT become a hub for aerial experiences such as aerobatic flights, skydiving, and hot-air ballooning for residents and visitors.

The agreement also means the airport will act as a base for Vertical, ActionFlight’s advanced pilot training program.

The program is expected to attract professional pilots from across the region and beyond to upgrade and refresh their skills.

It reportedly specializes in Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT), which is now mandated for all new commercial, private jet, and airline pilots, both locally and internationally.

The overall deal is also expected to help support Ras Al Khaimah’s strategic plans to expand its travel and tourism landscape.

The agreement also apparently aims to contribute to Ras Al Khaimah’s destination development strategy and better position it as the adventure capital of the UAE.

The agreement was formalized during a signing ceremony that took place at RKT in the presence of the Department of Civil Aviation and Ras Al Khaimah International Airport Chairman Sheikh Salem Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, and Ras Al Khaimah International Airport CEO Atanasios Titonis.
