  • Eligible individuals need not book an appointment but can head straight to designated vaccine centers.

Bahrain has made a second Covid-19 booster shot available by choice for adults aged 60 years and above and frontline medical professionals.

The National Medical Taskforce for Combatting the Coronavirus said the eligible individuals may receive any vaccine as a second booster shot, three months after receiving the first booster shot

The Taskforce also noted that the green shield will not change to yellow on the ‘BeAware’ App for this age group if they do not receive a booster shot, according to Bahraini media reports.

The individuals who are qualified for the second booster have been urged to head directly to the specific health centers that were previously announced by the Ministry of Health as they need not book an appointment.

The Taskforce noted that updating vaccination protocols are in line with steps taken by Bahrain to address the global pandemic, and maintain public health.
