The member states of the Regional Aviation Safety Group for the Middle East region (RASG-MID) of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) have elected the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as president for a period of three years.

The election took place during the ninth session of the group’s meetings hosted in Riyadh from 14-17 February 2022.

The Middle East Regional Aviation Safety Group (RASG-MID) aims to develop an integrated data-driven strategy and implement a work program that supports a regional safety management performance framework that is aligned with the ICAO Global Aviation Safety Plan (GASP), and the regional goals and priorities outlined in the Safety Strategy for the Middle East.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s election as head of the Regional Aviation Safety Group for the Middle East (RASG-MID) comes in appreciation of its prominent role in enhancing aviation safety and its efforts in supporting the regional plan for air safety and achieving its goals.
