Arab Parliament hails EU decision to sanction Houthi group

The Cairo-based Parliament claimed that Houthis are involved in humanitarian violations
  • The Council’s amended regulation follows the recent UN Security Resolution which designates Houthis a terrorist group for the first time
  • The Arab Parliament affirmed that this decision is an important step to put an end to the terrorist acts carried out by the Houthi coup militia

The Arab Parliament (AP) welcomed the decision by the Council of the European Union to include the Houthi terrorist militia in its consolidated black list of groups.

Reportedly, the council amended its regulation while taking this decision, and as a result, the Houthi group will be subjected to EU sanctions.

The Council’s amended regulation follows the recent UN Security Resolution which designates Houthis a terrorist group for the first time.

Also, the Arab Parliament affirmed that this decision is an important step to put an end to the terrorist acts carried out by the Houthi coup militia.

The Cairo-based Parliament claimed that Houthis are involved in humanitarian violations and war crimes against innocent civilians in Yemen.

The EU’s move will contribute to end Houthis’ targeting Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates with booby-trapped drones.

This also includes neutralizing their direct threat to the security of international navigation in the Red Sea.

The Arab Parliament called on countries of the world to build on this step, to stop the ongoing crimes committed by the terrorist Houthi militia.
