The second edition of Jeddah Season, called Jeddah Season 2022, kicked off in the Jeddah Art Promenade zone on Monday, on the first day of Eid al-Fitr.
The 60-day event is expected to see 2,800 activities taking place in nine main zones in the presence of Jeddah residents as well as visitors.
The zones are the Jeddah Art Promenade, Cirque du Soleil, Jeddah Yacht Club, Jeddah Al Balad, Jeddah Pier, Jeddah Jungle, Jeddah Superdome, Prince Majid Park, and City Walk.
The event is expected to make Jeddah a permanent destination for tourism, entertainment, and events in the region, according to a report in the official Saudi Press Agency.
At the opening ceremony, drone formations created paintings in the sky of the city, while fireworks painted other formations for visitors at the event area overlooking the waterfront in Jeddah.
Cirque du Soleil began its activities in the circus area of King Abdullah Sports City with international acts.
This year’s Jeddah Season is expected to feature international events and artistic and theatrical performances, Arab and international art concerts, games, and entertainment cities.
Daily fireworks displays are expected to be displayed in the Jeddah Art Promenade throughout the season, and the Cirque du Soleil event will reportedly feature an exclusive show for the Jeddah Season, as well as four international exhibits, seven Arab plays, two international plays, and a number of Arab and international art concerts.
This season will also apparently include 70 interactive events, over 60 entertainment games, several marine programs and activities, and numerous surprises that will delight Jeddah’s residents and visitors.
