Saudi minister appreciates Seafarers’ role in maritime sector

  • The minister was speaking on the occasion of the International Seafarers Day, observed on June 25.
  • More than 1,000 Saudi sailors work onboard the Saudi Naval Fleet, which in 2021 recorded advanced ranks in the tonnage side, and ranked first regionally and 21 globally.

Minister of Transport and Logistics, Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, praised the seafarers for their role in the global maritime transport industry and their efforts in sustaining the flow of life’s necessities.

He was speaking on the occasion of the International Seafarers Day, observed on June 25 annually.

Al-Jasser said on Twitter, “We are proud of all of you, as you are an essential pillar in the progress of the maritime sector and the movement of global trade, with your contributions to support supply chains, the delivery of goods to various countries around the world, and the strengthening of logistics services”.

The Kingdom continues to enhance its capabilities in the ports and maritime transport sector, and invest in the Saudi human component of seafarers, Saudi media reports added.
