Saudi Arabia has launched new youth programs aimed at raising the number of qualified manpower in the field of economics, public policy and social sciences.
The programs, which were launched by the Ministry of Economy and Planning on the International Youth Day, seek to reduce the gap between the skills required in the field of economy and the requirements of the labor market.
This initiative included the launch of the “Scholarship Advantages” program for students who have been accepted for scholarships in economics, public policy and social sciences (within the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Program for External Scholarships) with the aim of supporting them to achieve the scholarship program’s goals and aspirations.
Another program, “Economic Leaders”, focuses mainly on developing leadership skills in the government sector in the fields of economics, public policy and social sciences.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Economy and Planning organized a dialogue, ‘Discover the Economist Inside You,) to discuss the impact of youth and their role in developing the economy and to highlight the innovative solutions offered by young people to achieve sustainable development goals and their future effects on development.
It also included the launch of the “Professional Simulation” program, which allows high school students to integrate into the labor market and spend an enriching working day with the Ministry of Economy and Planning team to help them explore their academic options and various interests and plan their career future through workshops and interactive discussions, in addition to launching training programs.
The programs aim at developing the skills of young national cadres in the course of cooperative training and summer training, as it provides them with various opportunities to enable them to apply academic studies in the work environment. It also seeks to raise their level of knowledge, skill and empowerment, and also seeks to employ the elite of these young competencies within the team of the Ministry of Economy and Planning.
