Aluminium Bahrain or Alba has invited bids from specialists in solar panels for the development of a solar farm project in Bahrain, local reports have said.
The solar farm by Alba, the world’s largest aluminum smelter outside China, should have a capacity of more than 5 MW, said the local reports.
The scope of work reportedly includes survey, design, engineering, and supply of solar panels.
It is also said to include civil and structural work, erection, testing, commissioning, and also the tie-in to the Alba grid.
The requirement is apparently for a minimum of 350 W photovoltaic panels covering a surface area of approximately 37,000 sq m spread over operations areas, car parks, and the Alba club.
Alba has reportedly said the solar farm project would come as part of its environment, social, and governance commitments.
The last date for tender purchase is November 30, while the deadline for technical bid submission is January 31 next year.
