Arabia Taxi adds 269 new Tesla cars to its fleet in Dubai

Dubai, UAE – Arabia Taxi, a subsidiary of Economic Group Holdings in the UAE, has signed an agreement with Tesla Motors to add 269 Model 3 cars to its Dubai taxi fleet. 

This is part of a larger strategy by the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai to convert all taxi vehicles to environmentally friendly options by 2027. 

The Economic Group Holdings owns the largest fleet of private taxi vehicles in the UAE, and these new Tesla vehicles are a significant step towards its goal of becoming fully electric and carbon-free.

 The company is also considering hydrogen-powered vehicles in the future and hopes to play a leading role in promoting sustainable transportation options. 

The Dubai government supports this initiative to introduce green vehicles for a cleaner environment and improve air quality over the next five years.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Economic Group, Sheikh Majid bin Hamad Al Qasimi, has expressed his satisfaction with the progress his company has made towards environmentally friendly transportation. 

He stated that 83% of their current fleet in Dubai is operating with hybrid engine technology, and they are working on a strategic plan to convert the remaining vehicles to fully electric cars.
