Booking volumes up 195% YoY for Eid, says dnata Travel

The travel arm of the Dubai National Air Travel Agency (dnata) has said the total volume of local and international travel bookings for the anticipated Eid Al Fitr break has almost trebled this year, according to local reports.

The booking volume is up by 195 percent so far in 2022, compared to overall bookings made throughout the same period last year, the reports have said.

This year, 65 percent of UAE travelers opted for worldwide destinations, while 35 percent chose staycations, according to dnata.

This is compared to 68 percent of travelers booking UAE staycations and 32 percent seeking international holidays for the same holiday period in 2021.

The top five most-booked destinations for travel over the Eid holiday period this year so far with dnata Travel include the Maldives, the UAE itself, Turkey, Mauritius, and Oman.
