Colombia starts business forum at Expo 2020

The country of Colombia is organizing a five-day event at Expo 2020 Dubai called the Matchmaking Forum, said local reports on Monday, November 8.

The event is said to be part of the commercial initiatives of ProColombia, which is the entity in charge of promoting international tourism, foreign direct investment, non-traditional exports and the Country Brand of Colombia.

The Colombian event reportedly supports the goal of Expo 2020, which is to foster partnerships, innovation, and to find opportunities for trade investments.

This event started on Monday, looking to facilitate more than 3,000 meetings of 200 Colombian business representatives as they showcase their products and services to 125 buyers from 20 countries across the world, said the local reports.

The event is expected to make way for companies and investors to explore business partnerships in agribusiness, manufacturing, industry 4.0, and chemical supply chain sectors.

During this event, various companies from across sectors will apparently represent industries such as oils and fats, beverages, and meat etc. in agribusiness; construction materials, home furnishings, and design, etc. in the manufacturing industry; software, and IT services etc. in industry 4.0; clothing and footwear in apparel; and personal-care products, and pharmaceuticals etc. in the chemical supply chain industry.
